E-Statements – Auto Bank Draft Payments – Budget Billing – Natural Gas
MMU is promoting programs for its customers to take advantage of for improved efficiencies.
E-Billing and Auto Bank Draft Payments – Customers can earn a $5.00 one-time rebate to receive their monthly utility statements via e-mail and also a $5.00 one-time rebate for payments automatically debited from a checking or savings account each month. This promotion does not apply to debit or credit card payments. In order to retain the rebates, customers must remain on the programs for at least one year. Beginning in October 2019, paper statements will be available for the printing and mailing fee of $0.65 per month. General Manager Stephanie Wilson commented that “with e-billing customers are able to receive their monthly statement as soon as it is uploaded in the software system and electronically save it for their files.”
To sign up for e-Billing:
- Visit maconutilities.com and click on Account Login at the bottom of the home page
- Login to the customer utility portal or create an account
- Upon logging in, select “Utility Billing” and then “Sign Up for e-Billing”
- Customers can sign up by also contacting the MMU Business Office
To sign up for Auto Bank Draft Payments, customers are encouraged to contact the MMU business office and/or complete the Bank Draft Application on the MMU website under Resources – Forms & Applications.
Budget Billing – For customers wishing to pay the same amount each month for their utility bill, enrollment is currently open for the upcoming Budget Billing program until April 22, 2019. The 2019 program will begin with May 1, 2019 utility billing statements. A credit is built on the account during the low usage months which is then applied towards fees for high usage months. Natural Gas Promotion – For existing customers utilizing electricity for temperature control, if they wish to connect to a natural gas main near their home or business the fee of $225.00 is being waived and the service will be installed by MMU for free. Customers will need to contact a contractor for installation of equipment inside their home or business.
