Utility Services
Electric
MMU is a member of the Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission. Our Electric Policy is a guide to obtaining electric service and to set forth the services available, conditions for service, and standards for materials and construction in the customer’s electric installation.
For customers who would like to generate not more than 100 KW of electricity via a solar, wind, or hydro system, MMU also offers a Net Metering Service and Electrical System Integration arrangement. Please review our policy to learn more or apply.
Water
MMU places high standards on the treatment of its water for human consumption. Information about MMU’s water source Long Branch Lake and potable treated water can be found in the Annual Water Quality Report. The EPA conducted an Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule Data Report Screening Survey in 2015, the results can be found in the UCMR3 Report.
Wastewater
MMU promotes environmentally friendly practices related to wastewater treatment. Each year various sections of wastewater collection mains are rehabilitated to assist with the prevention of wastewater back-ups and wastewater entering the soil and/or groundwater. Regulatory and mechanical improvements continue to be implemented at the wastewater treatment plant
Natural Gas
Our natural gas policy is a guide to obtaining natural gas service and to set forth the services available, conditions for service, and standards for materials and construction in the customer’s gas installation. As MMU continues to keep up-to-date with new guidelines, a natural gas pipeline safety rule in regards to excess flow valves took effect April 14, 2017. If you would like to read the full details they can be found in the EFV Final Ruling or if you would like to get an excess flow valve, contact information and a brief explanation can be found in MMU’s EFV notice.
Rules and Regulations
