Modifications to Pump Station at Long Branch Lake
Request for Engineering Qualifications
Macon Municipal Utilities is preparing for modifications to its pump house located at Long Branch Lake based on flooding experienced in 2019. Below is a list of items to be accomplished:
- A small, climate-controlled building shall be constructed to house two variable frequency drives and one dry pack transformer above the Long Branch Lake emergency spillway elevation of 809 mean sea level.
- Also, the pump motors in the existing pump house shall be raised on to new four-to-five-foot-tall pedestals.
MMU is committed to delivering a safe and adequate amount of potable water to its customers as well as meet the City of Macon, Missouri’s fire protection needs. Engineering firms interested in being considered to assist in the solicitation of bids from contractors and construction oversight are requested to submit qualifications to Macon Municipal Utilities, 106 W. Bourke Street, Macon, MO 63552 no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Submittals should include examples of assisting communities with similar projects plus support of MMU’s approach for the pump house modifications or alternate suggestions. Two copies of the statements of qualifications should be submitted.
