Macon Municipal Utilities is requesting bids for the removal and replacement of a concrete retaining wall, stairs, and walk on the west side (Pearl Street) of City Hall-Macon Municipal Utilities Business Office located at 106 W. Bourke Street, Macon, MO 63552.
The scope will involve addressing the following components:
Retaining Wall: Approximately 110’ Length, 8” wide, and ranging from 10” (north end) to 5’1” (south end) in height. New wall to be 10” wide with anchor walls poured at a 90-degree angle to west at approximately 20-25’ intervals. Depth below grade to be determined between contractor and MMU. Replacement of the hand railing will be new stainless steel at 1-1/2 inch outside diameter.
Stairs: Physical size same as existing. Stainless steel railing to replace original rails. Also, MMU will supply heat trace to be installed by contractor in the stairs. Stairs shall be 6” in depth minimum to facilitate heat trace.
Flatwork: The walkway below street grade and at building finished floor grade to be 6” in depth to facilitate contractor installed heat trace provided by MMU. Walkway grade to be sloped to the west from the building and to the north. A Drainage Channel to be formed in the walk’s western side going south to north and then into storm drain below grade on the northwest corner of project area. Drain shall be covered with open bar, galvanized grading. Walk to also slope south to north.
Street-Side Apron: To facilitate removal and construction the existing parking apron will be partially removed. Replacement as necessary at a minimum of 6” in depth.

MMU will provide a Project 5060 form so that Missouri Sales Tax is not be charged on items purchased. Concrete to be supplied using the City/MMU’s contract and ordered by contractor.
